Question 1

What is architectural millwork?

Accepted Answer

Architectural millwork refers to custom-built wood elements that are structurally or decoratively integrated into a building — including wall panels, wainscoting, coffered ceilings, window and door casings, built-in shelving, and feature walls. Unlike standard cabinetry, millwork is designed to become part of the architecture of a space.

Question 2

Pacific Rim Cabinets provides a full range of custom millwork services including built-in cabinetry and shelving, wall panels and wainscoting, coffered and tray ceiling elements, fireplace surrounds, window and door casings, and feature walls. All millwork is designed and fabricated in-house at our Delta, BC facility.

Question 3

Do you work with architects and designers on millwork projects?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We regularly collaborate with architects, interior designers, and general contractors on millwork projects. We can work from supplied drawings or develop specifications in-house. Our in-house fabrication gives us the flexibility to adapt to design changes during a project.

Question 4

What areas do you serve for millwork projects?

Accepted Answer

We serve Greater Vancouver and the Lower Mainland for custom millwork projects, including Vancouver, Delta, North Shore, Surrey, Burnaby, and Richmond. We also take select projects in the Sea to Sky corridor.

Question 5

How long does a custom millwork project take?

Accepted Answer

Timelines vary based on scope and complexity. Residential millwork elements such as a built-in shelving unit or wall panel installation typically take 4–8 weeks from design sign-off to installation. Larger projects involving multiple rooms or custom architectural elements require a detailed timeline discussion at project start.
